Commenting Rules

Please read before commenting

  • Don't be a jerk. Avoid posting any comments that contain the following:
    • Name-calling
    • Personal attacks
    • Knee-jerk reactions
    • Responding to a post's perceived tone rather than actual content
    • Racism, xenophobia, or racial slurs
    • Sexism or misogyny
    • Homophobia
    • Attacks on a person's religious beliefs
    • Attacks on a person's political views
    • Anything that would infringe on another person's rights
    • General offensive comments or hate-speech
    • Threats, violent or otherwise
    • Anything illegal
  • Keep the discussion on-topic
    • Any comments that deviate too far off-topic, or are completely unrelated to the topic will be deleted
  • No self-promotion
    • Comments that only contain links to your blog, a product, your article on another site, etc. will be deleted.
  • Be careful when using profanity
    • If a comment contains curse words, the context of the comment will be used to determine whether it will be deleted. Curse words used to insult, antagonize, inflame, or violate any of the commenting rules will be deleted. Comments containing excessive profanity will also be deleted.
  • Don't copy and paste
    • If you didn't write it, you must cite the source you are quoting. If you can't cite the source, don't post it.
  • English only, for ease of moderating
    • English is my first language, and I'm not fluent in any others. If you are going to comment, please post in English, to the best of your ability. This is simply to make moderating comments easier.
  • Absolutely no spam
    • Any comments containing spam or malicious links will be deleted.

All comments must receive moderator approval before being displayed. This is to ensure that the rules are not violated. The purpose of this blog is to document my game development projects and portfolio. These rules exist to provide a welcoming environment for anyone who wants to comment. Feedback and constructive criticism on any of my projects is appreciated, as long as these rules are adhered to.

So, it's time to start this whole game dev blogging thing

First post, woooo! Hi, folks! I'm Kevin! From the first time I ever held a controller, all the way up to the present, I've had a passion for video games. I also love programming, and have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science. Now, I'm setting out on a journey to achieve a dream I've had for years: to work in the video game industry as a gameplay programmer. But, like most dreams, this is not achieved overnight. I need to develop a portfolio to get noticed in this industry. That is the purpose of this blog. Here, I will keep a record of my projects currently in development, and links to where you can play the games in my portfolio, once completed. I plan to post updates at least once a week. I HAVE RETURNED!!! Why I've been quiet these past couple weeks, and an update on my next project

Yeah, I know. I said I would update at least once a week. Then Alien Pixels From Outer Space released, and no updates after that until now. The reason for this is that there just hasn't been much of note to talk about since then. I kind of took a break due to fatigue after the last push to get the game out. Well, I'm back to it, and about to start my next project. Sorry about not communicating that I was taking a break. I'm still a bit new to the whole blogging thing, and honestly forgot about it for a couple weeks. I'll make a better effort to keep you guys updated in the future. My next project is based on something I made during a Ludum Dare in the Spring of 2017. I worked hard on it, but ended up with something that was really incomplete. The collision detection was terrible. It was either non-existent or objects were getting stuck on each other.
